Good luck. Russia's claim to fame is mail.ru, a site stolen from the founders by the government and stuck using 30+ year old technology stacks.

“Cuban information scientists didn’t just critique the limitations of traditional informatics, however. They also advanced a more critical approach to mathematical modeling, one that emphasized the social complexity and the historical contingency of informational regularities. In the 1980s, when Cuban libraries were beginning to adopt digital computers, Setién Quesada was tasked with developing a mathematical model of library activity, based on statistical data, for the purpose of economic planning. ”

Is this a joke? Talking about “freedom from opression” and socialist/communist systems? And complaining about restricted access to knowledge in capitalism and implying soc/communist systems were better?

Did the author of this post ever talk to anyone who lived behind the iron curtain?
